1 on 1 Counseling

Meet three of our counselors

Choose one of our qualified counselors. Counselors are licensed as Master’s level social workers, counselors and/or psychologists who specialize in overuse of alcohol and drugs; helping you change harmful behaviors.

Each counselor is a caring professional who can empathize with your struggle and provide proven paths toward getting better…all from the convenience of your smartphone, tablet, laptop or desktop. While each person’s counseling is different, the average duration of treatment is 6-8 months for most clients, and additional months are available if needed.

While I am confident in my skills as a therapist, I believe you are the best expert on yourself. I believe it is my job to help you face the problems and roadblocks that are holding your life back and learn the skills and gain the confidence to face and conquer these problems.
I have worked with Service Members and their families for the last seven years. I have had the privilege of supporting various Service Members as they dealt with deployment and reintegration issues as well as relationship issues.
I have also had extensive experience working with those who are struggling with addiction issues. I have worked as an Intensive Outpatient Coordinator as well as providing support and counseling in my private practice. I appreciate the struggle and difficulties those dealing with addictions face. When I work with a client I am focused on their problems and their struggles. I do not assume that I “know everything”, instead I want to learn who you are, your strengths and your weaknesses. I want to help you gain the knowledge and ability to overcome whatever is preventing you from being the best person you can.

Tobi Trickett

Tobi Trickett

Practicing Since: 2006
Disorders Served: Depression, addiction, sleep disorders, relationship issues
Special Populations Served: Military, Japanese/American couples and families

I am a licensed professional counselor in Virginia and Florida, with over 10 years of experience in the human services field. I have extensive experience working with anxiety, depression, addiction and relationship issues, with an added passion for assisting those who are interested in exploring lifestyle changes, such as minimalism, simplifying and living off-grid or in a Tiny House. Did I tell you that I live in a Tiny House on Wheels?! I offer meditation mentoring and have a tremendous interest in helping people learn how to get better sleep. Whenever there is new research about getting good, healthy sleep, you can bet that I’ve read it! I believe that sleep is one of the most important factors in mental and physical health. I have also counseled Japanese/American couples & families while living abroad. I lived in Okinawa, Japan for nearly two years, while working with the U.S. military. I’m currently taking some time off from traveling, but I sure hope to have more international adventures soon!

We all struggle with life’s many challenges from time to time. Sometimes we handle it well. Sometimes the challenge feels like more than we can take. Whatever you’re experiencing, I want to help you work through it. I can assist you in sorting through the negative thoughts or overwhelming feelings, so that you can see things clearly and make the right choices for you. My goal is to ensure that you feel respected and heard. I will treat you as an individual and will offer you support and compassion. I believe that each person is the expert on their own life, so it is not my place to pass judgement or make demands on you. My job is to help you figure things out so that you can move forward with the life you want.
